virtUe

St.Augustine was once asked, what are the three greatest virtues? His answer was 'Humility, Humility and Humility' it seems. Which is the only virtue of virtues,  which can  shatter pride and its twin counterpart arrogance. A homely today reflected/reminded " My child conduct your affairs with humility and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts. Humble yourself the more, the greater you are, and you will find favor with God. The mind of a sage appreciate proverbs and an attentive ear is the joy of the wise. Water quenches a flaming fire and alms atone for sins". Exemplified by the lord in flesh for many followers in Luke:14:7-14. The African priest, went a step further and  mentioned an event from his continent. A rich/influential person had a very loyal/devote driven, for over thirty years. On one of his European travels, he received the news that his driver who dropped him at the airport passed away. He cancelled all his appointments/meetings and flew back home, he paid for all the recurring expenses, drew his loyal driver in his car for the final funeral rights. This exemplify the message of unconditional humility/responsibility, within our current era.
